The term “guru” signifies a guide who dispels ignorance and embodies wisdom in Indian culture. The traditional guru–śiṣya relationship is sacred, emphasizing humility, service, and gratitude through Dakṣiṇā. However, modern spirituality often devalues this exchange, leading to the commodification of wisdom. Restoring respect for the guru–śiṣya lineage is essential for genuine transformation.
