Empty Bowl All that I had good and bad Things I called as mine Things I collected for a day All held closely to my heart Filling the bowl nestled in heart Outpouring it in a instant Have I emptied the bowl It is for He to fill it again For he fills uniformly Making man relate to man as one One to be same throughout He makes one face tests and trials Which shatters and recreates the mind Martyrs created are lost over time Names erased one day by time Courage shrinks and fades Myths take the place Horrors and terrors tread the path Foot prints of time shall be indelible Startled mind and fear all bared Daring to bare the subtle hidden layers He looks at the emptiness Out of past today flows Raising the hope for tomorrow to rise In the distant dawn Man knows All the path to the heaven Leads to same divine gift Emptiness needed to fill Lost all the past lives with filled bowl Emptied the bowl much before now For the gift of His is beyond form Neither spoken words Neither written words All lost in the simplicity Simplicity of emptiness Filled bowls fail to see Mirage of doubts fills mind Reflections thought as form Ripples causes to deform Emptiness shatters the form Truth known becomes true ~Maitreya Atma Sanchaya Dhwani Volume 2 Issue 3; June 01, 2007
